Cloud migration that does not strand the business

Cloud is a placement decision. Move the workloads that benefit, keep what still earns its place, and restore-test before you cut over.

“Move to the cloud” is not a strategy. It is a slogan that hides a set of placement decisions: which applications, which data, which identity model, which network path, and who operates the result.

Inventory is the migration

Name the systems, their dependencies, their data classification, and their recovery objectives. A workload with an untested backup is not ready to move. A workload tightly coupled to a local device may not belong in a region three time zones away.

Hybrid is often the adult architecture

Many organizations will run local systems, hosted applications, and public cloud together for years. Design identity and backup across that mix. Pretending purity helps only the slide.

MHM Hosting exists so websites and applications have a clear runtime home inside the group. Cloud architecture exists so the rest of the estate has one too. Neither is a reason to skip the diagram.
